It’s here! You’ve always wanted to enter that oh so famous cartoon caption contest in the back of the New Yorker (or, um, maybe Field & Stream). This is your big chance. We’ll be featuring a new cartoon from John Nelson every week.
Of course, our cartoons will highlight some creative fishing techniques, a little inspiration for anyone who’s working hard to create a customer feeding frenzy.
So, what do you win? Beyond effusive praise and the adulation of your peers, you mean? Let’s just say that it’s a surprise.
Okay, here’s how to play. First, choose the post by clicking on the post title - a week of ideas. Then, click on the orange “add image comment” tab found above the cartoon. Mouse-over the cartoon, lineup the cross hair (note that the caption will be BELOW the box that you draw), and draw a box of any size where you want to add a comment. The system will take a snapshot and pop-up a comment box where you can type your witty caption. The image capture and your caption will be posted below. Click on “show image” next to your comment to see your caption inserted into the cartoon.
You can’t win if you don’t play. No limit on the number of entries.
We will review all submissions and feature the winner next week.
